We’re proud to share that Movema has received funding from Arts Council England to evaluate the full legacy of Wildfire Rising – our transformative artist development programme supporting independent dance artists from the Global Majority, delivered in partnership with Cheshire Dance.
Since 2020, we’ve engaged over 80 artists across Liverpool and Bristol, investing in their artistry, removing barriers, and building something we believe has made a real difference.
Now, with ACE’s support, we’re tracking the impact over 5 years and finding ways to share what we’ve learned.
Whilst currently in the early stages of our evaluation, we’re incredibly pleased with the findings so far. A consistent theme is increased confidence. Participants of Wildfire Rising feel more empowered to approach organisations, lead projects, and trust in the value of their practice. Some artists even described their experience as “life-changing”.
