Working in some of the most deprived areas of Liverpool & Bristol, Movema bring people together to drive positive social change, improving, mental and physical health, cultural understanding and belonging for everyone, especially reaching out to our diverse & excluded communities.
Crowd Fundraiser
Over the past 17 years, Movema has engaged more than 100,000 people in world dance, bringing communities together through culture, creativity and connection.
We work with people who often face barriers to accessing the arts, including women and children from low-income backgrounds, people from the Global Majority and people rebuilding their lives after migration. But rising costs and growing pressures on our communities mean we’re struggling to sustain our work at the level that’s needed.

This money will support us to continue our work, especially;
- Projects in Bristol for families in Adverse Childhood Settings in an area of high knife crime and unemployment.
- Work with women refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants, a group who suffer the worst health and social inequalities in UK society.
- Continuing to train diverse artists, with lived experience of the barriers faced by our participants.
- Bringing our diverse communities together in joyous events, celebrating diversity and tackling the divisions in our society.
