Enjoy Taking Flight, a thought-provoking performance exploring freedom, flight and birds.
Inspired by Movema artists’ experiences of migration – and informed by the refugee and asylum-seeker communities they work with – the dancers will explore both human and birds’ desires.
The performance will happen beneath an installation by visual artist Maria Loizidou, which responds to the architecture of Liverpool Cathedral and includes a tapestry of migratory birds that can be found across Merseyside.
Together, Movema’s performance and Maria’s installation invite us to consider our relationship with nature and to think about coexistence and survival.
Programmed in collaboration with the Liverpool Biennial, a free festival of contemporary visual art.
