Trainee Diverse Dance Practitioner

Movema are working together with the Governments Kickstart Scheme to create 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. The job placements are aimed at supporting the participants to develop the skills and experience they need to find permanent work after completing the scheme.

Specialising in world dance, running an annual programme of classes, performances, events and festivals, the company is led by four female artists from diverse cultural backgrounds. Job Placement Summary

The Purpose of this placement is to support with the delivery of Movema’s programme of cultural dance that reflects Movema’s Core Values of Access, Joy, Openness, Impact, Belief in the Power of dance and Growth.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting with classes

Supporting Movema dance artists with the preparing and setting up for class

Shadowing Movema artists to gain knowledge and understanding of how to design and deliver inclusive cultural dance dances

To attend movema’s training schedule that supports

Delivering part of the session post 3-month training.

Administration:

To create lesson plans based on Movema artists examples

To read policies and understand how to apply to the work

To support with class paperwork: registration, session reports, and class registers

Data entry to ensure all activity is entered on to Movema’s performance spreadsheet

Marketing

Support the marketing team by gathering quotes and images for social media, case studies, and the website

Research other places/methods to promote activities to ensure Movema reach out to target communities.

Other:

To attend weekly team meetings

To attend scheduled training
