This year is our biggest celebration to date! With 5 groups of young people from Movema’s Unlock the Box project, our adult community groups and professional dancers!
Liverpool’s China town will be alive with performances and workshops on Great George Street and in The Black-E Art Centre.
Movema’s Timetable for 26th January 2020
1.30 – 2pm Community and Youth dancers perform at The Black-E. Followed by a workshop for all to join and learn some Chinese moves!
3pm – 3.15pm Movema Professional Trio performance on the Great George Street outdoor stage .
Classes & Rehearsals – Wednesdays 6-7pm at LIPA
Co-director Pei Tong is back from teaching and training in China including a visit to Liverpool’s twin city Shanghai!
She has been teaching Movema’s World Fusion classes on Wednesdays to choreograph for Liverpool Chinese New Year 2020, Year of the Rat! 🐀
To be involved as a dancer just come to the classes to learn the choreography! We welcome all levels & have new exciting moves to teach, fresh from master dancers in Beijing!
Wednesdays 6-7pm The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts!
Community and professional adult dancers will perform as part of the amazing Liverpool Chinese New Year festival on Sunday 26th January along with Movema’s Youth Dance Project Unlock the Box.
There are also opportunities to volunteer and be part of the event from behind the scenes. We always welcome new friends to join our Movema team 🙂
