Goodbye to Ithalia

Movema announce that as of 9th May, after 14 years with company, Ithalia Johnson has decided to move on to focus on a new chapter in dance, cultural leadership and ADHD/life coaching.

Ithalia has been a passionate and committed member of our team and Movema both recognise and thank Ithalia for her contribution as one of the founding members and a co-Director over this time.

Ithalia has been key in co-creating and delivering Movema’s artistic

vision and supporting the development and stability of Movema.

Ithalia said “This year has been a year of reflection for me, with developing my skills as a leader through the Clore Leadership programme. I am now seeking new opportunities, which will utilise my strengths in the best way possible. I will be based in Liverpool and I hope to stay connected to all who I have met during my time with Movema. Keep dancing and shining beautiful people! Ase Ase Ase!”.

“The legacy of Ithalia’s warmth and enthusiasm will stay with Movema. Her energy, dedication and contributions have helped to create the strong organisation that it is today, enhancing the wellbeing and togetherness of local communities through dance. Ithalia’s stage presence and charismatic, infectious energy make every event special and I am sure she will bring delight to her new and exciting ventures. I very much look forward to hearing about her further development. On behalf of the entire Movema team, I would like to thank Ithalia for her amazing contribution to dance, the performing arts and the spirit of Movema. We wish her only good things in the future, and the very best of luck.” (Mike Cunningham, Acting Chair)
