Lunar New Year Liverpool 2024

Movema are taking over the city with multiple performances and opportunities to get involved with dance, arts and activities from East and Southeast Asian cultures.

Saturday 3rd February – A collaboration with Hung Gar Kung Fu to start off the LNY celebrations with a vibrant parade across Liverpool city centre from midday.

Saturday 10th February – Movema are partnering with FACT and LESEAN (Liverpool East and South East Asian Network) all information here

Saturday 10th February – Movema is running family workshops at the Victoria Gallery & Museum from 11am – 3pm. 

With 3 x 45-minute dance workshops across the day for all.

Sunday 11th February –  Community dance performances at The Black-E and The Bombed out church. 2pm in the Main Hall and 3.15 & 4.20 on the main stage at Great George Street square.

Lunar New Year Library Project
Movema artists will be leading interactive workshops for Lunar New Year celebrations at 4 local libraries. Focusing on a blend of music, storytelling, movement and games, the sessions are suitable for kids and grownups alike!

  • Monday 12th February at Toxteth Library 12pm – 1pm
  • Tuesday 13th February at Central Library 12pm -1pm
  • Tuesday 13th February at Spellow Library 1pm -2pm
  • Wednesday 14th February at Garston library 12pm – 1pm
