All Things Dance

Bristol Dance Networking

In April Movema partnered with DAN Diverse Artists Network and Knowle West Media Centre to host a day of networking, discussions, speakers and performances. There was an incredible presence and such wonderful representation of diverse dance people and practices.

It was great to hear from Jazlyn Pinckney about the role of One Dance UK in supporting the dance ecosystem in Bristol, and about the free resources on their website. It was so positive hearing from Deborah Baddoo about the legacy of Bristol Dance Futures which continues to have an ongoing impact in the city. Bob Blunden talked about DMAC’s experiences of lockdown and the challenges they have faced emerging out the other side, challenges we all share. We were all moved by Cleo Lake’s poem and impassioned words about the legacy of dance in Bristol.

I made precious new connections that will start new projects!
