Pei moved to Liverpool 14 years ago from Malaysia. She originally studied pharmacy and continues to work as a freelance pharmacist in the North West.
As a keen dance enthusiast, Pei embarked on her training at Liverpool Community College followed by an intensive programme at Limon Institute in New York where she worked with some well-known industry leaders.
Pei’s professional dance work spans a range of styles from Contemporary to Salsa, Latin, Chinese Folk and Physical Theatre. Performances include: ‘Ling’ (TILT, Liverpool), ‘Dear Bodies’ (Protein Dance Company), ‘Nun’ (Yesid Lopez, NYC), ‘Bluebird’ (Liz Lea, Leap Dance Festival).
Pei has recently worked with Step Out Arts, a London based Chinese arts company, performing in ‘Jumping Dragon’ a research and development project choreographed by YuYu Rau.
For Mother’s Day 2013 Pei performed whilst 8 months pregnant in Tilt festival choreographed by Jo Ashbridge.
